Pakistan deaths in veterans twenty

A former first class player died during a veterans Twenty20 match in Karachi, a second such death in Pakistan this year in the faster format.

======STOP SUMMARY=====

Javed Sheikh, 53, collapsed during the match at Asgher Ali Shah stadium, having complained of chest pain after bowling three overs.  A club player Fakhr Khairi, 60, died while taking a run during a 60-plus match in the city. The Pakistan Veterans' Cricket Association president Fawad Aijaz said: "It's sad that Sheikh died during the match and a positive activity for veteran players has been turned into a tragedy."

Aijaz said his association would formulate fitness guidelines for veterans cricket, including barring players with a history of cardiac disease. Veterans cricket is popular in England, though it has yet to spread into the 20-over format.
