ALL seats on the first day of a county match at Old Trafford on June 6 will cost only a pound. This will be the Lancashire contribution to the day's 'Super Saturday' of sport in Manchester.

The streets in the Trafford area will be awash with sports fans as Lancashire start their LV= County Championship fixture against Somerset, and England play Argentina in a rugby union international at the Old Trafford football ground just down the road.

A Lancashire spokesman commented: "Of all sports, rugby union and cricket have a close synergy, and both are very popular at grassroots level throughout the North West. The pound tickets can be purchased in advanced from the Old Trafford ticket office by calling 0161 282 4040 during business hours (not available online) or they can be bought on the day from the Brian Statham Way ticket booths (gates open at 9am).
